This year’s Finals Day at Hoddesdon Bowls Club delivered outstanding bowling, great sportsmanship, and a fantastic atmosphere from start to finish. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the remarkable performance of Peter Shemilt, who achieved an extraordinary five wins out of his six finals – a feat that truly showcased his skill, consistency, and calmness under pressure. Peter’s success earned admiration from players and spectators alike, marking one of the most impressive Finals Day performances the club has seen.
Among his victories was the popular “It’s a Knockout” competition, played this year in support of our chosen charity, The Motor Neurone Disease Association (Hertfordshire branch). The event brought plenty of fun and friendly rivalry, while helping raise both awareness and funds for an important cause.
A big thank-you to all players, volunteers, and supporters who made the day such a success. Congratulations once again to Peter and to everyone who took part in making Finals Day a memorable celebration of bowls and community spirit at Hoddesdon Bowls Club.
